"The audience for crypto-related topics tends to be very narrow, and is skewed towards educated young males." Given her choice of couture, I'd say Julia Chatterly is not ignorant of this factoid.....lol. Most of the comments on her Brad interview that I read on the forum seemed to mention that red dress. I wonder if she gets a lot of marriage proposals in her comments section. Thanks for the update. The Hot Pocket news is especially exciting.

that's very possible, but it all depends on the rate of the increase and the volume. They could very well end up selling 1B a month while the price is around 1$. Pulling in 55B for them. Today top companies are nearing 1T, in 5 years who know where that will be.
reddit posted 2 hrs 45 mins ago in Tourist use case
Me too, nothing worse than a dim-witted Fanboy that can't see the bigger picture - he's probably still hodling his bag that is a Dollar under it's mean buy price.
reddit posted 2 hrs 46 mins ago by sticks4274 in Question about future of XRP
That is true. The would sell more and more as the price went up. But they would still be one of the richest companies in the world if not the richest
reddit posted 2 hrs 48 mins ago by sticks4274 in Question about future of XRP
But when xrp is 100 then the value would be 10. And they can’t dump it all at once, but they don’t need to. They have a system for selling it incrementally to develop the ecosystem
reddit posted 2 hrs 52 mins ago by mikenard77 in Question about future of XRP
they sell xrp based on volume. If volume suddenly spiked and xrp started to be used on a main stream scale they would be selling 1B a month, and even more possibly from what they hold on hand, as long as sales fell within 20 basis points of market volume. So the more xrp is worth, the less xrp ripple will hold.
reddit posted 2 hrs 56 mins ago by mikenard77 in Question about future of XRP
ripples holdings isn't calculated at full value. Its around 0.03 cents per xrp, since selling it all wouldn't be possible without tanking the price.

reddit posted 3 hrs 5 mins ago in Charting the course of XRP
BTC is staying the massive triangle that it has been in but the weekly MACD has crossed bearish. It's about to break soon and I would expect downward. It could break down as low as $6000ish if it does. We will look for a bearish break out of the triangle with volume. Volume is key to confirm it. If BTC breaks down like this, I expect alts to hold their value and this will be the "alt season" that the other charts are showing. We still might see XRP bounce up as high as $0.50-0.60 despite the breakdown in BTC.
reddit posted 3 hrs 8 mins ago in Charting the course of XRP
Finally achieved the bullish cross over on the weekly MACD for XRPBTC. Weekly looks like its going to end in a doji, showing indecision (and likely a reversal in my eyes). Uptrend starting but we are still in the channel we've been in. Everything is still set and showing a likely reversal from BTC to XRP.

I’m not sure exactly what it was, or how it works, or if it still going to be of use in the evolving markets. I only know what was said by Bob here. Plans change. My belief is that the method probably still exists and that it may be deployed by Ripple at some point but has not as yet. I occasionally wonder if last September was a test but really have no idea. I would love to know what Sept actually was...

The price continues to slow rise. Not sure what they did but volume is up 10x on their platform so the DTR burn rate has increased and the price is slowly following. I suspect they're really the only ones selling DTR so in effect they're controlling to slow rise in the DTR price.

Hey everyone. In the last few months ive noticed a sharp uptick in the number of pro-xrp youtube channels. Also appears xrp is now mentioned daily rather than weekly by somebody in a news outlet (even if the news is not truthful or "bad.") Price correlates with volume. To get volume, we need large commercial adoption. Commercial adoption comes from regulation. Regulation comes from widespread small-cap/amateur adoption. Adoption comes from awareness and research. Awareness comes from publicity. Whether good or bad publicity due to abilities or FUD lies, xrp is at least getting publicity. Hang in there, the next 2-3 years will be interesting.

Ok so they are separate firms employed by exchanges but do you know any examples ie names of firms like these, for crypto? I’m guessing some could even be individual whales providing a big stash of their own coins for a fee?

Exchanges actually employ market makers, pretty sure I read that Binance and Ocean Ex do it, basically every professional exchange out there. They provide liquidity

In practice, however, nodes including UNL can express approval / rejection by adopting the latest or just before ledgers. My shallow understanding is probably correct. The current progress is probably about 53%.

David Schwartz is well known for his honesty and intelligence, he also is in the best position to know how the system will work when it starts to get adopted. There have been many threads debunking your point of view which does not stand up to much scrutiny. We do not need a re-run just for you. Punt? Every investment is a punt if you do not do your own research. I find your comments very low value, verging on dim. For this reason I have ignore usered you, so please don't bother to extend this conversation. I think I speak for most of the rest of the readers when I say your comments are more boring than sceptical.

reddit posted 4 hrs 36 mins ago in Codius Smart Oracles / Multiple Hosts
I am relatively new to smart contracts. I am learning about Codius as well as Chainlink. I see both white papers leverage research from Cornell, with Link also using the new Mixicles technology from Cornell (Ari Juels), whereas Codius uses Google Native client for running untrusted code. I understand that Codius uses offline contracts for enhanced security. In Codius, how are the multiple hosts/independent smart oracles selected and incentivized? I know fault tolerance can be selected, but how do smart contract creators assess the performance and trust of the multiple hosts they are using for any given contract? I've gained an understanding of how Chainlink's project is set up to address this, and I would like to understand how this is addressed with Codius. Your smart contract can only be as good as your weakest oracles, and a distributed and trusted oracles ecosystem are essential for many high-value use cases. How does Codius approach this?

Autumn in Pembrokeshire is mild with some lovely days when the temperature is just right and the sun is shining. Being on the west coast it is always damp and often overcast, but nice for walking along our famous coast. Next week I will be in Naples, which is ideal for drawing because it is always warm. I hope you are right about the Alts turning up. I used to think the boom was just around the corner, instead it has sunk and sunk and I have accumulated and accumulated and now I am about 45% down, but this is not a concern. I own a good amount and I think 10 dollars is a low target for the medium term future and this would be enough for me to retire, live comfortably in my large house and afford many holidays to Italy.

@Julian_Williams I always wonder what your weather is like on days I see you post. I expect it's very nice right now. Still pretty hot here, but you can see the change in the light, which is the first sign of some eventual fall weather. What I see now........ is an alt coin market waking up. In my personal portfolio it started with KCS, which is up nearly 20% for the week. It turned up around the first of September, as did my Nexo. With the Binance fiasco coming to a close for US hodlrs, it looks like TRX is also now turning up, as of September 12. As I hoped it might (said so in Eric's thread, if you might recall.) Certain coins that might be considered "fashionable" like ATOM and MOF are having big runs. Not suggesting anyone chase them, but it's a sign of a changing zeitgeist, imho. XRP is just getting bought in proportion (along with everything else) , but imho this is something to be watched as a possible reversal. Unless we have some kind of game changing news, it will be a slog back to the previous intermediate highs in the fifty to sixty cent area...but this might be the start of that. Since the greening is broad across the whole space, I think it's likely. Nothing wrong with being committed because the fundamentals are there. I'm with you on that. I am still down 20% on my XRP "full bag" after making some portfolio adjustments, but I bought XRP before and after the little spike.....but wouldn't mind another month or two of low XRP prices to make getting back to where I want to be a little easier. Also buying Nexo this week. I have a goal on my position size there, and have a ways to go to get there. Considering a few small trades on some of these high flyers, but it won't be big bucks, if I do. Of all my hodls, VET is actually the most frustrating right now....more so than XRP. I expect it to turn soon, though. Like within a week,

reddit posted 6 hrs 46 mins ago in Tourist use case
I never sensed the term "bankers coin" was anything but good, or that Ripple objected to the term. It always was the regulated fiat to fiat bridge currency coin for fiat to fiat transfer. Since last year the horizons for XRP have expanded, not contracted, especially as we have begun to understand the bankers coin will provide new opportunities such as streamed liquidity and micropayments across borders. Ideal for opening up unbanked markets and many high tech industries as well as traditional industries like media, insurance and games. What all this stuff about "only works behind the scenes and has no street value". Perhaps you are trying to say that XRP will be so well integrated into the system that it will be under the bonnet of modern technology, and out of sight. Yes that is true, just like we do not see the processors in our computers or engines under the bonnets of our cars. But the engines in our cars and processors in our computers are high value business. XRP is a high value asset for carrying money across borders, the more it carries the higher its price has to be. The second half of your analysis is so off the wall it is not worth commenting on.

You make a lot of assumptions. It was a 6 mo contract, this was the first opportunity to close it. I got one email notifying me about an opportunity to close my contract 2 days before the deadline. That's it, only one. And even then there was no option to close it after I logged in on the 8th. I did contact their chat, no response, ever. I emailed, no response. I still haven't gotten an email response from support, only because they DMed me on twitter. Their legal email address is nonfunctional. Their legal department phone number has a vmail greeting that's barely set up. No call back. I think those are sufficient reasons to recommend not using them until further notice. I didn't say they stole my funds, I recommended not using them. My funds have now been returned to me but it's still not clear what happened. I recommended that they actually attach a time zone to their contract expiration emails. There's no adjudicating time zone in their terms and conditions. I gave them a few suggestions, like a) respond to emails b) respond to the chat feature and c) don't put a a legal contact email on your website if it doesn't work.

Nevertheless I am 100% XRP because I understand its use case, and can see no rivals for that use case. I think XRP has fallen out of fashion with the crypto community and it is going to take a lot of work to change that reputation for flat lining and sinking. The FUD bashing has taken its toll! I am very happy with the low accumulating prices because in my mind I have no doubt that one day it will go parabolic.

You are describing a coin that only works behind the scenes and has no street value. A couple of years ago this was called a nker’s coin” RL intensely fought against this image for XRP. Today we now claim it is the only path for success? It can’t be a world base currency, with absolute liquidity, and at the same time not be worth a gallon of milk, in any country. If banks and FI’s are the only ones using it, simply for ledger services, and balance sheets, XRP will have 0 value on the exchanges.
